Here we are, well into September, and the realization that we’ve been slacking on the postings. A little embarrassing but also evidence that we’re busy and looking forward to our projects with new partners and developing more exciting upcycled product creations.
Sustainable waste management is still the name of the game, and here are some developments:
- Our Shifting Gears Pet Products Brand was selected to be the Official Pet Products of the United States Tennis Association – Intermountain Region, the Colorado Youth Tennis Foundation and Colorado’s own Racquets For All, a charitable equipment organization. We’re piloting a program in Colorado where tennis waste like tennis balls, divider walls, windscreens, advertising banners and nets can be repurposed or upcycled into new accessories and gear for tennis enthusiasts. As far as we know, it’s the first tennis waste management program of it’s kind and we’re proud to be the only non-tennis brand that is endorsed by the leading tennis organization in America. Congratulations Scott Flora! www.shiftinggearspet.com
- We’ve been working with three very special ladies who own Carbon Pawprint for over a year to create and produce their Brand and Downward Dog, a line of yoga and animal rescue based pet products and T-shirts. We’re now accepting gently used yoga mats and re-creating a very classy and colorful assortment of leashes, collars and dog bowl placemats. The placemats even come with a functional strap that work when you go to the park with your four-legged companion AND on any standard yoga mat when you’re headed to the yoga studio. If you Doga with a small dog, you’ll want to get one of these! The new website: www.carbonpawprintcreations.com
- We happily converted some old banners for Boulder County administrators into credentials they will be reusing at their hosted events for months to come.
- Coincidentally, while we were processing Boulder County banners, we were visited by a staff writer and photographer from Boulder County Business Journal. I believe this is BolderPath’s first appearance and we’re pleased to have a prominent article in their annual publication of the Greenbook. I would have chosen a different main picture, but hey, it’s not like I walk around with that look on my face.
So we’ll plan on writing up some posts that highlight these projects, as well as show you some fantastic sustainable products we produced for TECO / Westinghouse, EcoXOXO, VMware, Ironman and more.
Last week we were delighted to host Boulder’s own Senator Rollie Heath, a man who helped bring Denver International Airport and international trade to Denver and Colorado. He has been an important instrument in expanding venture capital funding and business development in Colorado. I hope we’re going to talk about the state of small business manufacturing, innovation in sustainability and perhaps he knows someone who needs some really nice laptop briefcases.
Individual stories and photos to come.
